Powerful Words by NFL Football Player....worth repeating

"YOU DESERVE TO BE HAPPY. You deserve to live a life you are excited about. Don't let others make you forget that."

"I've been playing sports my whole life from Soccer to Basketball, from Baseball to Football. I didn't start playing Football until I was in 6th grade and from there on, it grew on me more and more. Sports has taught me so much and it's what I know well, but football has helped shape me into the man I am today; through the great times and the bad times. But, I am so much more than just an athlete. I'm a Man of God, I'm a Man with a sense of humor, I'm a Man who wants to give back, I'm a Man who likes photography, I'm a Man who loves kids, I'm a Man who loves to cook, and I'm a Man who is Loving. For some time now, I have been playing the game of football for the wrong reasons and during this time I sacrificed my happiness and my well-being. I want to encourage those reading this to do what feels good on the inside and not what looks good on the outside. Also, make sure you are doing it for you and your happiness and not for others and their happiness. With that being said, after talking with my wife to be and my family, I have officially ended my playing career! Although this is the end of my football playing career, it is not the end of my football career. I want to thank all my coaches, family, friends, supporters, and fans for all the support and help you have gave! I look forward to what the future brings to me and my family! You never will be happy until you love yours!"

Emotions, Stress, & Grounding

Emotions, Stress, & Grounding

How are you feeling about others in your life?

Check in with yourself the next time you are with a loved one that can throw your mood off and give your attention to where you are feeling the negativity in your body. The feeling might be in your heart or maybe your throat. Possibly your stomach. Just check in and notice where you’re feeling it and with your eyes closed, just breath into that space. Allow that negative feeling to release and breath it up and away from you. Visualize it moving up and away from you with each breath you breathe. Continue this breathing pattern for 5 minutes and then check back in with yourself and see if the intensity of that feeling has increased, decreased, or stayed the same. Repeat another round of this breathing technique if you need to until you are feeling better.

When we are anxious, we tend to take shallow breaths. As soon as you notice your shallow breathing from being under stress, take in a few deep breaths and slowly exhale. This will stimulate your nervous system and remind it to relax.

Getting out in nature is also a great way to reboot and calm your nervous system from stress. Take a walk or just sit on Mother Earth. Grounding is

If you’re interested in the deeper science, Dr. Briffa gives a more detailed explanation:

During the normal processes of metabolism the body generates what are called ‘reactive oxygen species’ which are commonly referred to as ‘free radicals’. These compounds appear to be important, at least in part because they have the ability to attack and destroy unwanted things within the body including bacteria and viruses. However, too many free radicals are a bad thing, and have been implicated in chronic disease and well as the very process of aging.

Free radicals are involved in the process known as inflammation, which is part of the healing process. However, low-grade inflammation throughout the body may lead to pain and other problems in the muscles and joints, and is also believed to be a key driving factor in many chronic diseases including heart disease and type 2 diabetes. In short, we want free radicals, but not too many.

Free radicals lack sparks of energy known as ‘electrons’. One way to quell them is to give them electrons, and these can be supplied by nutrients such as vitamins A, C and E, and plant substances known as ‘polyphenols’ (found in, among other things, tea, coffee, cocoa and apples). However, substances we eat and drink are not the only way to get electrons into the body: earthing does this too. If the body has a positive charge on it, earthing allows electrons to flow into the body where, in theory, they can neutralize overblown free radical and inflammatory damage.

Carrying a positive charge may well affect the body in lots of different ways, which means that earthing may offer a range of wellbeing benefits.

A few important rules to teach your daughter:

• Travel light through life. Keep only what you need.

• It’s okay to cry when you’re hurt. It’s also okay to smash (some) things; but, wash your face, clean your mess, and get up off the floor when you’re done. You don’t belong down there.

• Seek out the people and places that resonate with your soul.

• Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.

• 5-second rule. It’s just dirt. There are worse things in a fast food cheeseburger.*don’t do this one lol**

• Happiness is not a permanent state. Wholeness is. Don’t confuse these.

• Never walk through an alley alone.

• Be less sugar, more spice, and only as nice as you’re able to without compromising yourself.

• Can’t is a cop-out.

• Hold your heroes to a high standard. Be your own hero.

• If you can’t smile with your eyes, don’t smile. Insincerity is nothing to aspire to.

• Never lie to yourself.

• Your body, your rules.

• If you have an opinion, you better know why.

• Practice your passions.

• Ask for what you want. The worst thing they can say is no.

• Wish on stars and dandelions, then get to work to make them happen.

• Stay as sweet as you are.

• Fall in love often. Particularly with ideas, art, music, literature, food and far-off places.

• Say Please, Thank You, and Pardon Me, whenever the situation warrants it.

• Reserve “I’m sorry” for when you truly are.

• Naps are for grown-ups, too.

• You have enough. You are enough.

• You are amazing! Don't let anyone ever make you feel you are not. If someone does....walk away. You deserve better.

• No matter where you are, you can always come home.

• Be happy and remember your roots, family is EVERYTHING.

• Say what you mean and mean what you say.

• No one will ever love you more than I do.

• Be kind; treat others how you would like them to treat you.

• If in doubt, remember whose daughter you are and straighten your crown.

Words:  Cultivate What Matters!

by Sandy O’Neal

The words that come out of our mouths affect ourselves and they affect others. Being mindful of the words we chose to use around our children makes a huge impact on raising healthy, mature, responsible children.  And ultimately, that is what we are striving for as mothers.

A few years ago, my daughter had a disappointing situation take place with a close friend. She was saddened by the hurtful words her friend used. As I listened to her thoughts and feelings about what happened, I realized that I had taught her to be a strong, kind, and caring person. I was ready to come to her rescue, but because a strong foundation was built during her developmental years, she was equipped to handle the awkward and uncomfortable situation with grace and love.

As mothers, our children are constantly listening to us and how we respond to the world around us. Our words can be wonderful carriers of love that encourage and strengthen our children and ultimately build their character one day at a time or we can use our words to be harsh and unloving.

We are what we hear and using our words to help build our children up,  even when normal mishaps happen, instills in them the love that they need to grow into strong and kind human beings. Each day is a brand new day to cultivate what matters most to you and your family. A new day and a new beginning. Cultivate what matters!

Spring is just around the corner and it is the perfect time to plant new seeds or cultivate what is already in your life but maybe not working to it's full potential for you. What is the one thing you would like to cultivate in your life that would make your life easier, more rewarding, more peaceful, more healthy?

Those thoughts that no longer serve you can be in the form of your complaints. So take a look at the things you complain most about in life, as complaints serve as a clue as to what you would like to change. What does that look like for you?
